13VAC5-63-190.  Section 119 Appeals, of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, provides the framework for the Local Board of Building Code Appeals in accordance with §36-105 of the Code of Virginia.

Chapter 20:  Building Construction, of the Mathews County Code of Ordinances, provides local guidance for the Board of Building Appeals.

Citizens are appointed to five-year terms; Board of Supervisors recommends appointees to the Circuit Court; meets 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Historic Courthouse, as needed.  Appointees must be sworn in at the Circuit Court Clerks office before performing official duties.

Citizens are appointed to four-year terms after original staggered appointments; meets 1st Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse.  Appointees must be sworn in by the Clerk of Circuit Court before performing official duties.  2016 Legislation allows for 5-7 members.

§15.2-4904, of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, provides the framework for the Economic Development Authority.

Chapter 8, Article I, of the Mathews County Code of Ordinances, provides the framework for the Economic Development Authority.

Citizens are appointed to four-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms, must be off one year before reappointment; meets second Tuesday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 5:00 p.m. in Library.
