The City Council officially acknowledged March 27, 2015, as “Volunteers' Recognition Day” for our dedicated, caring youth ambassadors. Over 400 volunteers throughout the city are expected to be recognized for their service to young people at Cramton Bowl on March 31st.

Thanks to a Safe Routes to Schools grant from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) awarded to Central Alabama Regional Planning & Development Commission (CARPDC) and the River Region Obesity Task Force (RROTF), each of the schools that participated will receive a $210 stipend.

Bainbridge St.(Washington to Monroe) and Dexter Ave.(Bainbridge to Decatur) to CLOSE today for paving as the City of Montgomery continues its streetscape project downtown in preparation for the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March and the 60th Anniversary of the Bus Boycott. Roads will reopen to traffic tomorrow morning.
